We are still working on new tracks for the upcoming album. About half of the songs will be singles that have already been released and about half will be new songs. The goal was to have it released this summer but we now expect it won’t be ready until late in the year.

Part of the delay is a songwriting group Todd joined about a month ago. This is sponsored by Keppie Couts and Benny Romalis of How to Write Songs. We’ve been watching their videos on YouTube for a while and this opportunity presented itself to work with other songwriters. One of the things we love about music is that there is always something new to learn and always ways to improve.

The songwriting group meets online and features musicians from all over the world. The group goes for a couple months through a variety of songwriting challenges. The idea is to get out of your comfort zone and take different approaches to writing songs. We work with other songwriters and share feedback and suggestions on how to make our songs better.

Overall this has been a productive diversion. It is doubtful any of the songs will be released for public consumption. But it has been a growing experience and a chance to network with other creatives who share a passion for music. Who knows, there may be future collaborations in the works.
